TWITTER FOR ANDROID TIPS AND TRICKS TO MAKE YOU A PRO

Facebook being number one, twitter is next, being the second most popular social media platform with over 302 million active users monthly. So if you want to get the best out of twitter, here are some few tips and tricks you’ll need:

The moment you start typing and want to tweet, if you observe carefully, you’ll see a map pin icon down in the lower left hand corner. To attach your location to your tweet, simply tap this icon. Although this can be fun, you should be careful about revealing you whereabouts to the general public. Go to the general settings tab to fully activate your location

2. TURN OFF IMAGE PREVIEWS
Image preview comes by default with twitter and it displays thumbnail images right on your timeline whenever they are attached to a tweet. This might chop up some space, making you want to the feature off, saving some room for display. To effect this change, go to the app menu, tap settings>general image previews and then revert it to picture links.

3. REFINE SEARCHES
Although the search option on your android device might not display nicely as it displays on web browser, you still have the option to refine your results without stress. To do this, just tap the icon on the search result screen that is showing two sliders. Once this is done, note that you can limit your query to videos, photos, people, news and lots more. You can also look for nearby tweets.

4. MANAGE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
With  Twitter Android app, you can run multiple accounts right from the same screen, and this is very helpful when you have a series of account, maybe an account for personal use and another for promotional. Get this done by locating the app menu, tap on accounts then add up an account to get started. You can also switch account from this menu.

5. MAKE IT EASIER FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO FIND YOU
Your visibility on twitter is in your palms as you decide if finding you would be an easy task or a hard one for people. There are a whole lot of ways other twitter users can find you. To determine your visibility on twitter, locate the app menu and tap general. Then enable if you want other users to find you or not via email or mobile number.

6. CUSTOMIZE APP NOTIFICATIONS
Twitter notifications can be annoying sometimes as you can receive hundreds of notifications in a day, depending on who you are following. Twitter is a very busy app, and if you enable notifications, you’ll not rest as there will be a lot of notifications disturbing you all the time, some of which you don’t need.
To customize your notifications, locate settings from the app menu, tap on your Twitter handle then choose Mobile notifications. From here you can determine which notification you’ll need and even turn off the notifications completely.
7. LIMIT THE "WHILE YOU WERE AWAY" FEATURE
If you Login to Twitter on your Android smartphone, you will see a "While You Were Away" panel. The function of this panel is to collect the best tweets posted since your last visit. This can’t be disabled, but can be minimized. To minimize it, tap the cross icon then let Twitter know you don't like seeing the feature on the next dialog.

8. CHOOSE YOUR WIDGET
You can easily choose the widget you want using twitter. There are two widgets available on twitter, the large (4x2) and the small (4x1) which you can use for easy access to the home screen. With these widgets, you can see recent tweets or mentions. The widgets do not only display tweets, they also grants you access fully to tweet as well as other options for tweeting. Note that only the bigger widget (4x2) can be reset.

9. SHARE TWEETS
Although there are many other options for sharing of tweets outside of the Twitter app itself, you still have the option of sharing tweets from your device. On an individual tweet page, tap the share button and you can send it to apps like Dropbox and Gmail.
