If you have to stand in a queue for hours,
waiting till it’s your turn in a banking hall or somewhere else, then you’ll
know what it feels to have your android update delayed. Everyone wishes to get
faster android updates,
coupled with better battery life. For this reason, relax
and read as we drop a few little secrets to help you get faster Android
updates.
1. DO NOT USE THE GOOGLE SERVICES FRAMEWORK TRICK
If
you can easily recall, by wiping the data for Google Services framework in your
Settings > Apps > All tab you'll magically skip the queue and get an
Android update quicker
But
that is not the case. Clearing the framework data simply gives you a new Google
ID and takes you to the back of the line, not the front. Come to think of it,
this trick was spread by people trying to get people who are in front of them
out of the line. The bottom line here is that you should avoid using the Google
services framework trick.
2. DON'T FACTORY RESET BEFORE AN ANDROID UPDATE IS DUE
If
you perform a factory reset, your Google ID will be reverted. So if you reset it
when an Android update is being due, you're causing delay for yourself. The
best thing you can do in this scenario is to back up your data, update, reset,
restore. That's simply the magic process for getting updates fast and avoiding
bugs afterward.
3. UNDERSTAND HOW ANDROID UPDATES WORK
Get this fact: Android
updates are slightly different for manufacturer devices and carrier-branded
ones as they go through additional modifications testing and then finally hit
the carriers for their round of tweaks before they finally roll out to you.
Your geographical
location can also have an impact on how the update works. This is why for
example Samsung updates typically roll out first in the Baltic States. We can’t
detail out everything here, so to understand this better, checkout HTC infographic that explains the process and you can as well
checkout other sources.
4. BUY A NEXUS
Unless you own a Nexus device that receives
stock Android updates direct from Google, updating your device is going to pass
through several hoops before it gets to you. This process however can take a long
time, depending on the manufacturer and carrier.
5. KNOW YOUR MANUFACTURERS AND CARRIERS
The
time frame set for delivering Android updates to smartphones are different, so
if speedy updates matters to you, your next phone should probably be from one
of the most reputable ones.
As
stated earlier, note that once the firmware leaves Google, it goes to the
manufacturers, then the carriers before it gets to you. So again, you have to
figure out which carriers have the best – and worst – reputations for
delivering timely updates to their devices.
6. STAY CURRENT
This
might be the only working option that will greatly work here. The best way to
make sure you get prior attention for updates is to make sure you have a
current phone. Having the latest device will make updates easier.
7. TEACH YOURSELF TO FISH
There
is an old saying that says ''give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a
man to fish and he eats every day.'' Most smartphone manufacturers have methods
for forcing an update onto your device. In light of this, you have to know how android update works for your
smartphone manufacturer, and
then you have to learn how to do it yourself.
For
getting faster Android updates, these are the tips we have; if there is any
other tip, share it here. How long do you normally wait for an update?
